Director of Primary Education, Laura Lund
Ms Lund has been a teacher since 1993 having studied for a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as well as a history degree at Canterbury. She has been a Head teacher for over 13 years at three different London schools managing them all on the journey to outstanding provision. She is a Local Leader of Education and a Professional Partner working to drive school improvement and support new Head teachers. Laura has two children and lives in Chiswick, she enjoys travelling and running.
Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead, Helen Barnes
Helen Barnes began her teaching career in New Zealand in at a primary school in Christchurch after completing her studies at Christchurch College of Education. She settled in England in 1992 and has taught and gained experience across all year groups. She has a passion for teaching English and children's books. She developed her leadership skills through being a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (gaining the NASENCo Award) and Deputy Head before starting at Kensington Primary Academy in March 2018. She is also interested in high quality teaching and developing newly qualified staff into competent and courageous teachers. In her spare time Helen likes to travel and explore new places. She also likes to cycle, swim and run!
Assistant Head and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Kate Hitchins
Kate began her teaching career in Australia and studied for a Bachelor of Education at Deakin University in Melbourne. After finishing her degree, Kate moved to England in 2015 and begun working for the Knowledge Schools Trust. She has a passion for teaching Maths and developing and implementing the mastery approach within classroom practices across the trust. Kate likes spending time with her dog and tending to her growing indoor plant collection.
SENDCo, Hannah Sheridan
After studying Psychology at University of Oxford, Hannah trained to be a teacher at the Institute of Education. She then continued her career in London, taking up teaching positions across both mainstream and special education settings. During this time, Hannah developed her passion for SEND education and high-quality teaching by studying for several extra qualifications. She enjoys studying the psychology of education and has a published paper on maths education. In her spare time, she likes to do crafts and go swimming.
